Our Mission

AAPI Placer County supports our local AAPI community in creating spaces to be seen, heard, and understood by means of advocacy and celebration of AAPI cultures and contributions.

By promoting awareness of who AAPI are, educating about our diversity, providing access to resources for AAPI, and creating partnerships to combat discrimination, AAPI Placer County advocates and strengthens our local communities for the social, political, and economic well-being of our AAPI community.

Our goal is to support the AAPI community in their desire to promote social, historical, and cultural awareness through community partnerships, projects, and events. To learn more about our ongoing projects, click here.

Our Core Values

1. Community

We are stronger together. Through collaborative partnerships, rooted in connection and belonging, we cultivate a community that positively impacts the region.

2. Well-Being

We embrace authenticity by fostering brave spaces that enhance the social, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of the community.

3. Equity

We affirm the dignity and worth of each member of our community. By prioritizing action over intention, we work to combat the structural forces that have harmed some groups while benefiting others.

Our Story

AAPI Placer County is a non-profit organization formed in 2021 by community members concerned about the growing anti-Asian sentiment. In the hopes of finding healing and support, AAPI Placer County set its goal to provide opportunities to celebrate the Asian communities, who bring so much history, culture, and businesses to Placer County. AAPI is also honored to network with other AAPI organizations and fellow supporters at Sacramento State University and Sierra College.
